This is the short, plain version, published in line with the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.

How it works

We take part in affiliate programs run by sellers and by affiliate networks. Links to products on this site carry a tracking identifier. If you click one and then buy, the seller records the sale as ours and pays us a percentage of it. That percentage varies by product and is set by the seller.

Affiliate commissions are our only source of revenue. We don't run display advertising and we don't sell reader data.

What we are paid for, and what we are not

• We are not paid to publish a positive review, and no seller has editorial approval over anything here.
• We do not accept payment for placement or for a ranking position.
• We are paid only when a reader chooses to buy. There is no payment for a click alone.

The conflict this creates

Being paid on purchases gives us a financial reason to want you to buy something. Pretending otherwise would be worse than naming it. Two things we do about it:

• The explainers stand on their own. Fiber basics and psyllium are useful whether or not you buy anything, and both say plainly when a plain supermarket product does the same job as a branded one.
• The quiz screens for people who shouldn't take bulk-forming fiber, and those readers are pointed to a clinician instead of a product. We earn nothing from that path, and it stays in.

What we don't do

We don't publish invented testimonials, before-and-after photographs, fabricated review counts, countdown timers that reset, or claims about a specific rate of weight loss. A soluble fiber supplement can reasonably be described as supporting regularity and helping you stay full for longer. It cannot honestly be sold as a weight-loss drug, and we don't sell it as one.

Your purchase is with the seller

We don't handle orders, payments, shipping, subscriptions or refunds. When you follow a link you're dealing with a third-party seller under their terms. Where a product is sold on a subscription or auto-renewing plan, check the renewal price, the renewal date and the cancellation method before you pay.
